Muslims Riot. The World Yawns

Enraged Muslims are rioting, burning effigies, cursing the West, promising suicide bombings, and threatening to kill Salman Rushdie...again. What else is new?

At this rate, the international community is going to start suffering from Muslim riot fatigue. I know I am.

It's a bit like having a perpetual two-year old on the world stage, constantly throwing tantrums (albeit deadly ones) in order to get its way. The problem is, too many dhimmified Westerners are more than willing to give it to them.

Let's hope this latest whine-fest results in a dose of tough love, rather than yet another time out.

Their problem is that they think their own ridiculous taboos apply to the whole world and that everybody, even non-Muslims, should abide by them (I think it was George Bernard Shaw who defined barbarism as "the attitude that the laws of one's own tribe are the laws of the universe"). Since the non-Muslim world can't be bothered, the Muslims are doomed to a state of more or less permanent outrage. It's sort of like deciding that you'll be mortally offended every time somebody else uses the word "the".
